GT Avalanche Review
With the Avalanche range, GT has produced several hardtail bikes aimed at the discerning MTB enthusiast who knows what they want. Ranging from Sport and Comp to Aristocracy and Expert, they embrace all levels of quality and upkeep.
Barrage bikes are popular around the world, with the iconic GT triple-triangle frame design immediately recognizable to most cyclists. The bikes correspond proficient value-for-money only aren't specially specialized in any area of mountain biking, rather providing an all-around trail riding experience.

Barrage Sport
Sport, the most affordable Barrage build, comes with the standard 6061 aluminum frame and a elementary SR Suntour fork with 100mm of travel. There are some decent upgrades on the Elite version of GT's Avalanche hardtail MTB. Most notably, the air-sprung SR Suntour XCR-RL fork is far superior to the cheaper, gyre jump versions. It doesn't leak oil, has first-class responsiveness, and has a full 120mm of travel.
Some other overnice improvement is the xi-speed Shimano SLX drivetrain which is a bit lighter than Deore and achieves smoother shifting. Information technology'due south not the full groupset though, as it'southward paired with a Prowheel 30T crankset and eleven-42T Sunrace cassette.
For brakes, GT has kept with Shimano'south very pop MT200 hydraulic discs, which are often found on higher-priced mountain bikes. The brakes use much of the applied science plant on improve quality sets only are manufactured in a more affordable way to provide excellent value for money.
